Driving Agricultural Technology Transformation, Creating New Chapters of China-Africa Cooperation — AGRIFAM Attends the 2025 Africa-China Forum on Agri-tech and Industrial Cooperation

From June 23 to 24, 2025, Nairobi, Kenya became the focal point of China-Africa agricultural technology cooperation as the "Africa-China Forum on Agri-tech and Industrial Cooperation" was successfully held here. This forum was jointly initiated by the Beijing Jingwa Agricultural Technology Innovation Center, the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA), and the Global Food Economy and Policy Research Institute of China Agricultural University, among other institutions, with the aim of deepening technological collaboration and jointly building a modern industrial ecosystem.

H.E. Guo Haiyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Kenya, African agricultural department officials, international organization experts, scholars, and enterprise representatives gathered to discuss development strategies.

As a key participant in China-Africa agricultural technology cooperation, AGRIFAM showcased its core achievements in empowering Africa's agricultural transformation through technology, demonstrating its commitment to translating Chinese experience into new drivers for African development and implementing the "Partnership for Agricultural Development and Prosperity" initiative.

Addressing critical constraints on agricultural development in Africa, AGRIFAM has identified technology as its central breakthrough point. Its methodology emphasizes local adaptation: designing agricultural models tailored to regional conditions, establishing diversified agricultural industrial parks, and integrating crop and livestock industry chains to drive synergies across primary, secondary, and tertiary industries, thereby stimulating vitality in livelihood economies. Through innovation in agricultural and livestock equipment, technological iteration, and optimized digital management, AGRIFAM enhances productivity comprehensively across all dimensions.

In his address, Mr. Wang Gui'an, Vice President of AGRIFAM, outlined AGRIFAM's achievements with supporting data: the company has implemented nearly 500 agricultural projects across more than 20 African countries. Smart agricultural machinery has promoted production standardization and scaling; the integrated application of big data, artificial intelligence, and industrial IoT has helped client factories reduce energy waste by 18%, decrease labor dependency by 50%, and increase operational efficiency by 20%. Smart eco-agriculture solutions have boosted breeding efficiency more than tenfold compared to traditional methods, significantly boosting the supply of meat, eggs, and dairy products and enhancing people's quality of life.

The challenges to food security in Africa serve as a call to action for AGRIFAM to deepen China-Africa agricultural cooperation. Moving forward, AGRIFAM will firmly leverage technological innovation as its plow to cultivate the fertile soils of Africa, share China's modern agricultural wisdom, continuously enhance agricultural productivity, forge a more robust foundation for food security, empower the growth of local talent, and improve public welfare. These efforts will elevate China-Africa agricultural partnership to new heights and inject strong momentum into building an even closer China-Africa community with a shared future.
