Sugar Alcohol

Sorbitol

Through the advanced double enzyme production process, starch as the raw material is treated by the following processes such as the liquefaction, saccharification, filtration, decolorization, ion exchange, evaporation, hydrogenation, followed by another round of decolorization and ion exchange, chromatographic separation, evaporation, crystallization, separation, and drying to obtain crystalline sugar alcohols. The production line is equipped with an advanced intelligent Distributed Control System (DCS) to automatically regulate various process parameters. The entire production line system can be started and stopped with a single button operation as required by the customer.

AGRIFAM is committed to becoming a trustworthy and comprehensive supplier of sugar alcohol solutions for our customers.

Sorbitol
Sorbitol

Sorbitol, a transparent liquid formed when the highly hygroscopic sorbitol dissolves in water, exhibits a sweet taste (with a sweetness equivalent to 60% of that of sucrose) and chemical stability. Its key applications include:
1. Food industry: It serves as a low-calorie sweetener in sugar-free candies and chewing gum, while also acting as a humectant to extend the shelf life of baked goods;
2. Pharmaceutical field: It is used as an osmotic pressure regulator in injections, an excipient in oral medications, and a laxative;
3. Cosmetics: Owing to its hygroscopicity, it is applied in facial masks, toothpaste, and other products.
4. Industrial sector: It functions as a raw material for surfactants and a plasticizer in papermaking.
