[Integrated Intelligent Breeding, Green Circular Farming-Livestock Integration] Demonstration Project for Breeding Ten Thousand Dairy Cows in Yunlong County, Yunnan

The Ten Thousand Cattle Farm Project in Yunlong County, Yunnan, jointly developed by Sinohydro Bureau 14 Co., Ltd., PowerChina Northwest Engineering Corporation Limited, and AGRIFAM Co., Ltd. for Dali Prefecture State-owned Capital Investment and Operation (Group) Co., Ltd., covers an area of 910 acres and is expected to produce approximately 200 tons of fresh milk daily at full capacity.

The project has been meticulously planned and scientifically laid out according to the local climate, environment, and topography. The construction primarily includes various types of cattle sheds, feed processing and storage facilities, milking parlors, manure treatment buildings, offices, and employee dormitories. Upon completion, the farm will house 10,000 dairy cows, including 6,000 adult cows. The average annual milk yield per lactating cow over 305 days will reach 10 tons, with the core herd achieving 11 tons.

The project integrates multiple cutting-edge technologies: The smart farm system enables 24/7 monitoring of production processes and the physiological and health conditions of dairy cows, automatically regulating the temperature in the cattle sheds.

The precision feeding system allows for fully computer-controlled automatic feed formulation, precisely mixing various nutrients required by dairy cows into Total Mixed Ration (TMR) according to the formulation, achieving precise feeding.

The manure treatment system is highly automated, with solids being fermented using molecular membrane systems to produce bedding material for cattle, and liquids undergoing anaerobic fermentation for use as organic fertilizer for forage cultivation.

Biogas boilers and photovoltaic panels on cattle shed roofs contribute to low-carbon energy conservation and environmental friendliness.

Efforts are focused on creating an intensive, standardized, green, and organic demonstration farm that integrates Holstein dairy cow core herd breeding, efficient sex-controlled propagation, intelligent breeding, farming-livestock integration, agricultural-livestock cycling, and agriculture-culture-tourism integration.

Upon completion and operation, the project will effectively drive the development of dairy cow breeding and forage cultivation in Yunlong County, boost local employment, increase farmers' incomes, and promote the growth of the local dairy cow breeding and forage cultivation industries.
